UNY FUTSAL TEAMS WON NATIONAL LEAGUE
The futsal team of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta succeeded in completing the success of winning the Student League (LIMA) of Futsal Kaskus Central Java and Yogyakarta Conference (CJYC) 2017 on Sunday (27/8) after the UNY men team beat the futsal team of Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) with the final score 7- 3 for UNY. Previously, the women futsal team of UNY first secured the title after convincingly conquering the women futsal team of Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) with the final score 5-0. In the championships held at GOR Ki Bagoes Hadikoesoemo UII Yogyakarta Campus, UNY futsal men team followed by Unnes Semarang as runner up and Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) as the third winner. While for the women futsal team category, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta team was as the champion, followed by Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) futsal team, and Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) following as second and third winner.
After winning this championship, UNY men's and women's futsal teams in which almost entirely consisted of students of the Faculty of Sport Science, were entitled to advance to the national round which will be held at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim, Malang, East Java, in October. Saryono, M.Or., the UNY team futsal coach who is also a lecturer of Sport Education Department FIK UNY stated that in the future the players will continue to practice and please support all academic community of UNY to face the next level. "The achievement of the women's futsal team can defend the title of the previous year and this time the men’s futsal is able to give the achievement in the national round as the champion", said Saryono. Saryono further said that the success of becoming champion in Lima this time is not separated from the fighting power and support of all players, officials, leaders of FIK and UNY leaders. Over the next 2 months, UNY futsal teams will continue to practice and improve team weaknesses. Prayer and support of all UNY residents are very important to improve the motivation of UNY futsal teams, Saryono argued. (SP27)
