66th ANNIVERSARY OF FIK UNY

Faculty of Sport Sciences (FIK) UNY is 66 years old on October 1, 2017. As a higher educational institution, FIK academically always strives to produce graduates, research, and community service according to the development of the era, in accordance with its vision to become a leading sports education institution at ASEAN level in 2019 and on the world level in 2025 based on Akhlak Mulia, Collaborative, Tolerant, Innovative and Visionary (AKTIV) Principles. This year, the celebration of the 66th anniversary is celebrated by various agenda of mass gymnastics, Senate Meeting with single agenda of Anniversary Ceremony, soccer match of FIK UNY lecturers / staffs with alumni and journalists, and international seminar of Yogyakarta International Seminar on Health, Physical Education, and Sports Science (YISHPESS 2017) on 14 October.
Rector of UNY, Prof.Dr. Sutrisna Wibawa, M.Pd., in his speech congratulates the Faculty of Sport Sciences Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta and also expects the academic community of FIK UNY to keep improving the quality and quantity of research, education and teaching, student achievement, and quality journals. Rector of UNY states that in the achievement of international achievement of FIK students in particular, it cannot be separated from four aspects which include psychology aspect, pedagogy which includes didactic-methodic rules in training athlete, good sport management aspect, and science and technology aspect in supporting or facilitating best practices in world the sport embodied in achievement. On that occasion, the Rector of UNY awarded Prima Wisnu Wardana (student of PJKR FIK UNY) who won archery number compound at SEA Games 2017. Further, Sutrisna initiates UNY to invite the successful practitioners of international achievements to become guest lecturer such as in sports, arts, and so on to enhance the quality of UNY.
On that occasion, Budi Widayanto, S.Pd., alumnus of FIK UNY and also archery trainer of Indonesia Archercy Federation to take Prima Wisnu win gold medal at SEA Games 2017 in Malaysia last August becomes the scientific orator. Budi emphasizes that successful coaches cannot be separated from the role of sports organizations, athlete parents, coaches, good sport facilities and infrastructures, and supportive environmenst. Furthermore, Budi adds that being a trainer requires competence, totality, sincere intentions and patience in fostering athletes to be able to present international achievements. Anniversary ceremony was held at GPLA FIK and also attended by Chairman of KONI (Sport Committee) DIY, President Director of Kedaulatan Rakyat, and other partners such as Disdikpora DIY, and bank parterns.
